Access Key or free voyage fare bookings (past/future) do not qualify for Sailing Club eligibility. Any voyage booked using an Access Key does not contribute to the tally of voyages that are eligible to earn perks accrual, nor will Sailing Club members receive perks on Access Key or deeply discounted voyages.
-
Sailing Club members are entitled to exclusive limited-time offers, which will be available periodically. We will communicate via email when these offers are available, with details about how to take advantage of the booking perk.
-
An eligible voyage is a full-fare sailing that hasn't used a discounted access key or other low-fare pricing methods (such as gifted cruises, comped casino cruises, or voyages bought with airline points). Reduced rate voyages and certain other booking types are not eligible to earn or receive perks. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for information on combinability.
-

- RockStar & Mega RockStar Quarters: 60 days before sailing
- All other cabins: 45 days before sailing

However, please note that space is limited, and all waitlist requests are subject to availability.

While The Casino is an incredible space that is constantly being activated throughout the day, we do have to follow some gambling guidelines. Therefore, our casino games will open up approximately 30 minutes after sailing from the port, once we're in international waters, and it will stay open up until our Sailors are ready to call it a night - but at least 30 minutes before approaching the port.
-
While Bar Tab is not available to purchase on board our lady ships, Sailors can pre-purchase their Bar Tab in the Virgin Voyages app or by logging into My Account up until 24 hours prior to sailing. By pre-purchasing a Bar Tab, we'll top you off with an extra bonus on us.
-
Though you definitely can, you don’t have to. The $150 deposit required to lock in these benefits also works as a placeholder, allowing you to choose your sailing date and itinerary later. Sailors must sail within two (2) years of placing a deposit. Then, whenever you’re ready to schedule your voyage, you can contact your First Mate (travel agent) or our Sailor Services Crew, and we’ll get you sorted.
-
Prior to sailing, Sailors will have the ability to book directly from our Virgin Voyages App, on "My Account" on www.virginvoyages.com, with our Sailor Services Crew or through their travel agent. Payment for Shore Things will be due at the time of booking.
Check out all our Shore Things at https://www.virginvoyages.com/shore-excursions. -
24 hours prior to sailing, all Sailors are required to fill out a health declaration (aka the health check form) in the Virgin Voyages App. Those who have answered “yes” to any of the questions will be sent to a secondary screening for further evaluation. We invite your attention to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (“CDC”) general information for cruise ship travelers here.

Alcohol laws vary based on where we’re sailing. In the United States, the legal drinking age is 21, and in other ports, we follow that country’s local laws. In international waters, Sailors 18+ may consume alcohol unless otherwise restricted by itinerary.
On our Alaska itineraries, all Sailors must be 21 or older to purchase or consume alcohol onboard.
Sailors must comply with the drinking age laws of the departure port and itinerary, and alcohol cannot be brought on board by anyone under the applicable legal drinking age. -
Sailor Loot is our cheeky way of saying onboard credit. Similar to our Bar Tab, you can purchase Sailor Loot before your voyage by contacting Sailor Services. Once on board, Sailors can use it to purchase items like specialty drinks, spa treatments, tattoos, retail, Shore Things, and more!
Unlike Future Voyage Credit, Sailor Loot cannot be used on pre-voyage purchases, including Bar Tab.
All Sailor Loot is dedicated to the sailing it is applied to, and any unused funds will not be refunded or rolled over after the voyage ends. -
More than 120 days prior to your departure date, you'll need to pay a 20% deposit to secure your booking (but don't forget, you can also hold a booking for 24 hours without any money down up until 45 days). Once you're within 120 days of sailing, the full voyage fare is due at the time of booking. If you need to change your travel plans after this, you still have plenty of options. Just take a look at our cancellation policy or give our Sailor Services Crew or your travel agent a shout for more details.

For voyages ranging from 6 to 8 nights, Sailors will receive a $200 discount + $200 onboard credit. Because the ships are supplied all over the world, it may be easier to meet your specific food allergy requirements in some countries, but very difficult in others. Special dietary requests should be submitted at least 45 days prior to sailing. For requests made with less notice, we will make our best efforts to provide your requested accommodation but cannot guarantee our ability to do so.
We can arrange to have no sugar and low sodium meals for Sailors with those specific medical dietary restrictions upon request.
Please note, Virgin Voyages does not have allergen-free kitchens. We do not offer Halal or Kosher Dining options. -
The “My Next Virgin Voyage” onboard offer’s promotional onboard credit will only apply to the Sailor’s future voyage. Sailors can use onboard credit to purchase specialty drinks, spa treatments, tattoos, retail items, Shore Things booked onboard, and more! Onboard credit is often referred to as “Sailor Loot.” Onboard credit can be used in the Casino for gameplay but cannot be cashed out. Unlike Future Voyage Credit, Sailor Loot cannot be used on pre-voyage purchases, including Bar Tabs or shore excursions booked before the voyage’s departure date. All Sailor Loot is dedicated to the sailing it is applied to. Unused funds will not be refunded or rolled over after the voyage ends.

As an Adult-by-Design experience, we have an array of carefully selected beer, wine and expert cocktail options ship-wide. If you must bring that rare bottle of red you got in the south of France, we get it. Sailors are also welcome to bring two (2) 750mL bottles of wine per cabin in carry-on bags on the day of embarkation (sorry, no liquor or beer please). Please note, any alcohol in your checked luggage will be collected pre-sailing and returned once your voyage is complete. You are also welcome to bring specialty liquors from a port of call on board. Simply hand them to our security team as you board, and we will hold them until your final night.

For bookings made on or before October 6, 2025:
Our web-based booking lets you select a specific cabin category, and we’ll assign the best cabin available based on your chosen criteria. If you wish to change your ship location, you can select a new zone on the Web based on availability. If you wish to choose a more specific cabin or suite, you can reach out to our Sailor Services Crew or your travel agent for help.
For bookings made on or after October 7, 2025:
How your cabin is assigned depends on the voyage fare option you selected:- Lock It In Voyage Fare (Standard Cabins & Suites): Your cabin is booked on a guarantee basis. You’ll secure the category you selected (or higher), but the exact location is assigned closer to sailing. Cabin changes are not allowed.
- Base Voyage Fare (Standard Cabins): Your cabin type is assigned automatically within the category you booked, and cabin changes are not allowed.
- Essential & Premium Voyage Fare (Standard Cabins): You’ll choose your cabin type during booking, and your cabin will be automatically assigned. With these fares, you’ll also have the flexibility to make changes later if availability allows.
- Non-Lock It In Voyage Fare (RockStar & Mega RockStar Suites): Suites are automatically assigned, and cabin changes may be possible depending on availability.

Our voyages require Sailors to have a valid passport with an expiration date at least 6 months after the voyage end date. Additionally, depending on your country of citizenship, certain ports may also require a visa for entry.
However, we understand that spontaneous getaways sometimes occur without sufficient time for passport arrangements. If you fall into this category and you are sailing out of Miami, Los Angeles, Seattle, or New York on an eligible closed-loop voyage, and are a United States citizen, we can make an exception to the passport requirement. In such cases, you will need to present one of the following documents:- Original valid US Passport
- Original valid US Passport Card
- Original valid Trusted Traveler Card (NEXUS, FAST)
- Original or copy of your state-issued birth certificate AND a physical Government-issued photo ID
- Puerto Rico birth certificates issued prior to July 1, 2010 are not acceptable
- Hospital-issued birth certificates are not acceptable
- Original Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State AND a physical Government-issued photo ID
- Original Certificate of Naturalization issued by US Citizenship and Immigration Services AND a physical Government-issued photo ID
