Virgin Voyages FAQs for Onboard Policies
Onboard Policies
We always want all of our Sailors to feel comfortable. We encourage you to wear more than a bathing suit if you go to a restaurant, and to kindly wear footwear when you're inside the ship. Your style is your style. Dress Up. Dress Down. Just Dress.
At Virgin Voyages, we’re all about Sailors feeling free to express who they are, and we know personal style is a huge part of that.
That said, we kindly ask that Sailors keep the comfort of everyone in mind when enjoying our shared spaces. Personal style is always encouraged, so feel free to have fun and express yourself! We just ask that attire remains considerate of those around you. On occasion, we may host private groups or themed events in designated venues where attire may be a bit more daring. If you're joining one of these events, we ask that those bold looks stay within those specific spaces.

The drinking age in international waters is 18, in the United States it's 21, and in other ports, we'll go with whatever their country's laws specify. On Alaska itineraries, our onboard policy requires all Sailors to be 21 or older to purchase or consume alcohol.
In fairness to all our Sailors on board, we think everyone deserves a spot in the sun. If you leave any items unattended on chairs or loungers for more than 40 minutes, we will remove it and safely store it in lost property located at Sailor Services on Deck 5 Mid.
A muster drill is a mandatory safety briefing conducted to familiarize all of our Sailors and crew with the ship's emergency procedures. But this is Virgin Voyages we're talking about, so we promise to make it worth your while 😎
Sailor Loot can be used in the casino for gameplay, but cannot be cashed out.
While smoking is not permitted in the Casino, we do have a designated smoking room nearby on Deck 6.
Yes — we are deeply honored that you're looking to memorialize the life of your beloved family member on board our ship. We cherish our Sailors and understand the importance of paying respects to those important in their lives.
To request a Celebration of Life on board, please complete our Celebration of Life Request Form at least 14 days before your sail date. You'll be asked to provide your ship, sail date, party size, and a Certificate of Biodegradability for the container that will be used.
Once we receive your request, we'll work with local port authorities and our shipboard teams to confirm everything is approved, and we'll follow up with you prior to your voyage.
If you have questions or need help submitting your request, our Sailor Services team is happy to assist at 954-488-2955 (US), +44 (20) 30034919 (UK), or +61 (1800) 491708 (AUS).

We have a beautiful sun deck on Deck 17, called The Perch, where you can feel comfortable sunbathing topless at sea.
You can refer to our prohibited items list, while also keeping in mind local government guidelines (for example, you must leave seashells at the beach in the Bahamas).
The safety and security of our guests is our top priority. We operate in full compliance with — and in many cases exceed — U.S. and international safety regulations. You can find more information, and our Security Guide, here.
When exploring our ports of call, make sure to bring The Band and your government-issued ID with you.
We respect all our Sailors' diverse religious beliefs and encourage them to practice on their own or with other members of their group during their voyage. That being said, please note that we don’t have an onboard formal place of worship.
No seashells, corals or any marine souvenirs will be allowed on board, regardless of whether a shell was purchased in a store, found on a beach, or professionally cleaned and guaranteed as a sustainable product. This policy is in place to prevent the support of the sale of marine life souvenirs, which are harmful to the marine environment and pose a public health risk.
Please note that fake shells will be allowed. We thank you for your cooperation in helping us to protect the marine environment and promote responsible tourism.

No. While we understand that you may legally be able to fly a drone at certain ports along your voyage, we do not allow drones aboard our Lady Ships. They will be confiscated pre-voyage and returned upon arrival at our home port.
Congrats on your special occasion! We can’t wait to celebrate with you and we’re so happy you chose us to make your time special. At this time, our Sailors are not permitted to bring potted or fresh-cut flowers on board.
To enhance your voyage and add an extra touch of excitement, we recommend adding a package such as our "Splash of Romance." This way, we can make your journey even more memorable and sweet.
