Sakkara Necropolis & the Pyramids of Giza

Dating back to 2700 BC, the step pyramids and smaller mastabas (rectangular tombs) at Sakkara preceded the larger ones at Giza by hundreds of years.
You can compare and contrast the two sites for yourself in chronological order during this exciting, architecture-forward excursion. The Step Pyramid of Djoser, at Sakkara, was built with steps to allow the ruler to walk up and reach the gods after his death. The later pyramids at Giza used that prototype, plus advancements in building technology, to attain their iconic shape and size. On top of these landmarks, you'll also see the Great Sphinx and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.
