The VP - Marketing & Business Growth, is a highly collaborative, brilliant team player, who has significant experience in creating brand momentum and fast-tracking business performance. As a key business leader, you are responsible for leading a fantastic team to perform at the highest level. You will also develop and execute an effective marketing and brand strategy that delivers our business goals and you digging in with data and analytics so you can effectively measure business results and work out how we can keep getting better and better.
 
The successful candidate for this role will be the business lead for all marketing planning, strategy and activity. You and your team are all about successful implementation and execution of our plans, budget management to make the most of the resources we have, brand positioning and presentation, advertising and media activity, event and brand activations as well as sailor relationship including onboard and channel marketing. It’s a big job for a strong leader at a bold new brand so it requires you to be up for a challenge.
 
You'll also be an influential cross business leader with a focus on driving initiatives that help grow brand awareness, brand engagement and consideration and make sure Virgin Voyages becomes the most irresistible and talked about travel brand. What You'll Be Up To:

  • Develop an overarching strategy and plan to increase brand saliency that translates into demand generation and growth/engagement across all key measures
  • Build and lead a team of amazing professionals and invest time with them to help them deliver results and achieve the business goals they are accountable for
  • Work with cross business leadership to set current and long-term goals for the business and your team and have a clear vision on how to achieve them
  • Leverage your strong business acumen and honed analytical skills to define what we need to know and what to do with the information
  • Lead the relationship and performance impact of all key agencies and vendors that work across the marketing and brand activities (creative/digital/media/performance) and ensure we are getting excellent value for money
  • Lead the analysis and performance monitoring of all marketing activities and campaigns and work to evolve and improve as required
  • Be the key decision maker in prioritizing marketing projects and allocate required resources accordingly
  • Lead the preparation of regular reports and presentations on marketing impact
  • Lead and deliver regular important investor and partner updates
  • Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for growth and new non-traditional sales channel opportunities
  • Forecast and manage hiring needs for the Marketing crew and work to optimize the size of the team to deliver the work that needs to get done
  • Provide oversight and guidance of effective marketing campaigns and events/activations
  • Manage marketing budget in accordance with organizational goals and use effective tools to display effectiveness from spend
  • Maintain relationships with executive leadership throughout the organization and addresses high-level issues with other decision-makers on marketing strategies.
  • Partner across the business with Research, Product, Sales, and Events to drive the marketing impact on the business.
  • Establish clear channels of communication (new/existing) for Marketing programs, measuring the impact of each.
  • Establish and create a robust lead generation program, working closely with Digital Marketing teams to improve the current demand generation process: creating a more consistent, productive approach; developing the right dashboards; making the case for investment.
  • Build an agile, highly productive and engaged team, nurturing and developing talent through strong and actively engaged leadership.
  • Be the key brand custodian and help make sure it is protected at all levels
  • Leverage and share best practices, problem-solving to continuously improve programs.
  • Use all communication tools available to drive brand impact – social, PR, etc
  • Work with other Virgin family cos and partners to create brilliant joint programs that benefit all
  • Lead the development of the sailor marketing programs that bring effective database management and onboard marketing activities to life in a cost effective and business successful way

 
Super Powers Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA a plus
  • At least fifteen years of experience in brand/strategic or performance marketing
  • Proven work experience and strong leadership skills as a VP of Marketing in a company that was scaling
  • Proven track record in creating and executing strategic brand and marketing campaigns in distinct markets and building initiatives that link to the business strategy
  • A true intellectual curiosity to solve challenging issues
  • Strong understanding of all forms of media
  • Strong analytical and research skills and understanding
  • Excellent verbal communication, written communication and presentation skills

Sr. Product Owner of Web & eCommerce

The Gig:
We’re seeking a Sr. Product Owner - Web / eCommerce who will be responsible for managing and delivering the overall strategy of our eCommerce platforms and ensuring the marketing team achieves its business and marketing goals. You will be at the center of all stages of channel development, starting with defining a plan and creating a vision aligned with our company objectives. You will have the highest perspective, ensuring the team maintains a cohesive view while remaining flexible in this fast-paced environment. You will work to grow and optimize our channels leveraging best practices, insights, and data. 

Your day-to-day is always an adventure. Your responsibilities include gathering project requirements, grooming, prioritization, mapping project dependencies, continually updating and managing the product backlog, gathering feedback, creating timelines, working in lockstep with the UX/UI & IT teams, and keeping a strategic head to ensure our products effuse our brand and commercial vision, all while juggling scope, budget, and time, and weighing priorities across all stakeholders. 

You will align our advertising, digital, technology, people, design and experience teams and their agencies and are the primary link between stakeholders, teams, partners, and SLT. Which means you need to be an expert communicator, making sure all are aligned on decisions and strategy, and you’re communicating effectively to the UX, UI, content, IT, and development teams in the process. 

Ultimately, you are accountable for each stage of the development process and the final product. Your body of work should be awesome and inspirational. You’re also not afraid to be scrappy (we’re a startup after all).

What You’ll Be Up To:

  • Lead product owner for eCommerce platform with potential to absorb more
  • Manage core project roadmap and timeline for virginvoyages.com digital marketing / sales platform(s)
  • Work with key business units to define a roadmap and strategy
  • Use data and technology to hypothesize, test, execute and report across multiple platform campaigns and strategies
  • Oversee channel growth and optimization in partnership with business intelligence and analytics leads
  • Suggest new ways to grow the digital business including site enhancements and new vendors
  • Assist in overseeing and managing all agency/vendor relationships
  • Monitor daily project progress and pro-actively tackle potential questions, delays, and conflicts.
  • Communicate status updates and escalate project risks regularly to project leads, contributors, or other project stakeholders as needed.
  • Partner with brand and content team to support marketing initiatives and COMMs needs.
  • Work closely with UX/UI, Customer Experience, Content Strategy, Content Production, and Content Publishing internal and partner teams 
  • Be point on deployment of new marketing technology adoptions across enterprise
  • Advise key stakeholders in Marketing, IT, Sales and Executive Management on strategies to meet corporate objectives through the use of marketing technology
  • Partner with Technology team on product development and project management using PI, SAFe and agile methodologies
  • Communicate regular team progress and other key updates to key internal management teams and stakeholders
  • Manage and negotiate scope and budgets with vendor partners
  • Establish and update internal processes conducive to channel needs
  • Generate presentation summaries of key deliverables to be shared with cross functional teams

Super Powers Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent required
  • 8-10 years’ experience managing internal resources, agencies and digital products on client or agency side required

Creative Director

The Gig:
We’re looking for a Creative Director to drive our content studio (think of it as an in-house agency on steroids). For this role, we need a deeply creative thinker with a 360° orientation leading content strategy & content creation across all channels and platforms.
This special someone will have extensive experience building consumer brands and identity systems across diverse touchpoints. You have worked with both start-ups and established brands, and have successfully led design projects and teams. You’ll have a strong POV on design and storytelling, and you are able to communicate this to your team & partners with clarity, conviction and without ego. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, engaged, and have a passion for our industry as well as a desire to create, learn and explore emerging trends while aligning with our core brand vision. Cyber Security Engineer

The Gig:

We are looking for the best of the best for our Cyber Security Engineer gig to help build and manage a cyber security platform for Virgin Voyages.  You’ll make things more secure by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and securing highly sensitive data.  You will be responsible for the analysis and assessment of vulnerabilities in the environments, investigate available tools and countermeasures to remedy detected vulnerabilities, and recommend solutions to help secure our platforms/systems against future vulnerabilities.   • Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
  • Identify and define system security requirements

The Senior DevOps Engineer will help design and build solutions that will balance the need for speed, flexibility and reliability of Cloud infrastructure and IaaS/PaaS/SaaS applications.  Enable and implement DevOps best practices and execute deployments through multiple environments. Look at optimizing platforms, systems, and environments, to help the business become stable but easily scalable.  This critical role requires the ability to synthesize radical ideas, the aptitude to define new deployment and management strategies to get the job done — Globally.

What You’ll Be Up To:

  • Help drive DevOps Engineering for our Enterprise IT and Business IT teams in both IaaS/ PaaS and SaaS implementations.
  • Assist with projects involving cloud, operating systems, applications, database(s) and security issues and requirements.
  • You will be an active member of Design & Build IT projects, steering cloud configurations and services towards industry-leading security with your domain expertise.
  • Use best practice and tools to help automate the deployment of systems in both public/private cloud datacenters.  
  • Work with team to engineer and implement new Cloud Security tools to feed our DevOps/SecOps processes to ensure the solvency of compute resources.
  • Thoroughly understand software installations, systems monitoring and troubleshooting, account management, and overall efforts to minimize system downtime.
  • Thorough understanding of DevOps ideologies and ability to drive and communicate change supporting DevOps methodology within the organization.
  • Provide support for all public/private cloud-based infrastructure and solutions.  Help troubleshoot and fix issues as they arise in real-time. Then help make post issue recommendations and changes to prevent future incidents. 
  • Work with both internal and external teams to enhance and improve our Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery processes. 
  • Serve as an interface to governance, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure the system consistently meets the requirements for certification and accreditation
  • Be able to recite the alphabet.. Backwards, just kidding, there may be some other duties assigned though

Super Powers Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Information Technology or other related discipline with 10 + or more additional years related professional experience.
  • 10 + years’ experience as a Security Engineer supporting software architecture development environments.
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, Chef, and Puppet.
  • Experience with common scripting languages (Python, Ruby).
  • Strong experience with cloud security strategy, cloud provider ecosystems (Amazon AWS/ Microsoft Azure) & migrating Enterprise from traditional data center Infrastructure, Application and Data designs to hybrid or fully-cloud enabled practices.
  • Familiar with DevOps and Agile methodology.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking architecture, cloud operations, security, automation and orchestration.
  • Possess clear understanding of security protocols and standards and have experience with software and security architectures.
  • Demonstrate an ability to bridge technology knowledge gaps between IT staff and corporate staff such as Legal, Compliance and Audit organizations.
  • Understand how to design and implement security tests in accordance with stated criteria.
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX Windows servers, MS SQL, Oracle MySQL, Postgress DB, Kafka. Experience understanding protocols, such as SSL/TLS, CIFS, HTTP/S, DHCP, SMTP, LDAP/S, NFS, SNMP and DNS.
  • Experience in networking concepts and services, such as VPNs, IPsec, PKI and TCP/IP.

  • Work as part of the Content Studio team on graphic design projects, both internal and external with creative and design agencies
  • Design and production of key marketing collateral and branded items
  • Shoot in-house productions when necessary
  • Create Craysea cool templates for all Sales/Marketing internal and external needs
  • Champion consistency to the brand's visual identity and usage
  • Collaborate with other designers, video editors & copywriters in the content studio to produce great work with one brand look & feel 
  • Stay on top of new software and be on the latest stuff
  • Act as an ambassador of the Virgin culture

Super Powers Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in fine arts or Graphic Design
  • Minimum 4-8 years relevant job experience working in graphic design with proven work and creative acumen required
  • Strong visual sense and aesthetic focus, with an understanding of graphic design principles that drives our brand identity forward
  • A well-rounded portfolio that showcases an on-brand aesthetic that lends well to a range of audiences

Sr. Financial Analyst

The Shipboard Accounting Manager will be responsible for the oversight of all shipboard accounting operations by controlling, balancing and verifying all shipboard revenue and related transactions.

You’ll be reviewing and approving reconciliations of all operational account balances and validating revenue transactions including related cost of sale transactions.  Ensure all shipboard general ledger transactions and related are accurately posted by appropriate shipboard systems, including preparation of month-end flash reports & dashboards and close procedures.

You’ll combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. This can be accomplished by utilizing our Work Day Accounting System, MXP Ship Systems and other ancillary shipboard systems.

What You’ll Be Up To:

  • Oversees the preparation of the records related to shipboard revenue and expense entries.
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating & posting transactions. 
  • Analyze and resolve discrepancies.
  • Oversees the reconciliations of shipboard revenue & related general ledger balances by comparing reports from all shipboard systems with the general ledger in a timely manner.
  • Review and analyze various concessionaire transactions & system reports.
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing financial reports, assisting with the profit and loss statements and other revenue recognition related statements. 
  • Oversees the preparation of all daily, weekly, monthly and annual dashboard reports outlining both revenues and expenses for various management levels. 
  • Provide shipboard management with various reports to assist with running the shipboard operations.
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documents problems/discrepancies.
  • Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Provide support to the Manager of Revenue Accounting. 
  • Ability to be a self-starter and self-motivator. 
  • We’re a scrappy little startup.. There’s going to be some other duties assigned

Super Powers Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required 
  • 5+ years’ experience in general or tax accounting
  • Experience managing a small team of accounting professionals 
  • Experience with computerized ledger systems 
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel 
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment 
  • Familiarity with MXP & Work Day General Ledger would be groovy

  • Create attendance targets for the crew so they have a clear understanding of the KPI’s. Train the crew on the technology tools available.
  • Continue to improve the marketing with the digital team to enhance the experience for the sailors.
  •  Analyze data and create reports to share the successes of the VIP sailors and evaluate opportunities to improve
  • Continually evolve the attraction of the loyalty tiers to encourage sailors to play up.
  • Create marketing with our digital and shipboard team to partner with OBR areas to increase attendance to happenings events
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures and best practices for Casino Hosts and Management regarding player program, Communication to Sailors from the Casino Crew so they can clearly define all aspects of the program, comping guideline, and outstanding Sailor Service
  • Effectively manage Casino Sailor Services Rep, Casino Host and Management communication to guarantee smooth sailings
  • Clearly understand KPI’s and reevaluate with Senior Manager Casino Operations and Senior Director Onboard Revenue on a monthly basis
  • Manage Sailor issues and resolve before escalation
  • Carries out appraisals of direct reports in line with Virgin Voyages principles.
  • Use multiple database systems, internal computer programs and various computer-based resources
  • Analyze financial aspects of the Player Program and continually identify opportunities for savings and revenue growth
  • Understand Casino mathematics so we invest in the sailors who add value. (Theoretical Loss) 
  • Passionate and flexible as the Player Program develops
  • Experience leading a diverse team
  • Good command of the English Language

Super Powers Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Player Manager for a Cruise ship or a Casino ashore.

Procurement Manager

Our Procurement Manager leads procurement of goods and services related to our ship’s newbuild. Purchasing, Project Management and Logistics are the wind in your sails. You will be held highly accountable for timely execution in often ambiguous circumstances of purchase orders and delivery to final destination in the lowest cost.

What You’ll Be Up To:

  • Develop company strategy for New Build needs.
  • Project management of all New Build procurement tasks.
  • Maintains accountability for all New Build purchasing activities
  • Builds tools and implements process between internal customers and suppliers to support Supply Chain.
  • Indirectly supports the Logistics process in the shipyard to ensure timely loading of goods with compliance and regulations.
  • Negotiates to achieve the highest value and lowest total cost whilst ensuring that quality and reliability are always maintained.
  • Ensures that approved suppliers comply with our corporate ethics and sustainability standards.
  • Monitors performance of products and services procured to identify any defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel and takes corrective action.  
  • Owns the procure to pay process for selected suppliers which includes, issuing purchase orders on approval, ensuring timely delivery to final destination and receipt in preparation of payment. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Super Powers Required:

  • Bachelor’s in business, supply chain or comparable experience
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain
  • Cruise related experience required. Preferably in supporting operations & projects related to newbuild, dry dock, & in-service projects.
  • Experienced in buying most of the following categories: FF&E, OS&E, Hotel, Entertainment, Casino, OBR, and Technical items
  • Expert in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Experience working with the AMOS procurement system preferred
  • Strong understanding of supplier terms and conditions.
  • Ability to work independently under undefined scope of work.
  • Highly organized and self-starter
  • Good financial acumen

  • Maintain excellent relationships with key consumer and trade press.
  • Respond to press inquiries in a timely manner and act as support for press needs to ensure a comprehensive story.
  • Assist with writing and maintenance of company’s incident communication plan. 
  • Assist with statements and positive positioning of company during crisis situations.
  • Assist with media promotions, ensuring that company is featured in a positive light. 
  • Prepare any required briefs and work to get the right sign offs before commencing any work.
  • Plans and organizes promotional events for land and sea as necessary

Superpowers Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism or related field of study, we’d love for you to have a Master’s Degree.
  • 5 years of experience in public relations and event planning in an agency or corporate setting required.
  • Consumer and/or trade media experience required. 
  • Travel or cruise line experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills required, verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with members of the media and management.
  • Experience and knowledge of mass media and its workings.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have superior organizational skills.

You will support the creation and delivery of the organizational training strategy for our Voyage Travel Services Team. The Program Manager will be responsible for the facilitation and engagement of all of our training as well as assessing the outcomes of the delivery of each training. You will identify developmental needs based on training results and drive suitable training initiatives which will provide positive results. 
 

What You’ll Be Up To:

  • Enhancing employees’ skills, performance, productivity and quality of work expectations to make sure everything is Ship Shape!
  • Lead the operational execution and effectiveness of all training facilitations 
  • Collaborate with the Learn & Grow Manager and deploy a wide variety of training methods
  • Design and create effective facilitation methods that support in the enhancement of our crew’s learning and delivers effective results back to the business
  • Determine and decide the most effective training and communication methods from instructor-led, action learning & e-learning
  • Collaborate with Learn & Grow Manager, VTS Managers, business partners, and Quality Assurance to keep abreast of changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies
  • Lead the reporting and gathering of feedback for all trainings and implement changes based on successes and opportunities shared by the teams
  • Own the development and design of all training activities and exercises that will be utilized in training courses  
  • Stay up to date with current training practices, training methods, learning tools, and learning deployment devices and technologies
  • Collaborate with the Learn & Grow Manager to identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with VTS Managers 
  • Conduct effective on-boarding and orientation sessions
  • Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them back to the Learn & Grow Manager 
  • Provide opportunities for ongoing development
  • Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned


Super Powers Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development or equivalent 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a training facilitation and coaching and development capacity
  • Experience with facilitating successful training courses
  • Experience in identifying gaps with training programs and providing ideas to enhance the engagement and delivery of training
  • A strong communicator, both in written and spoken communications
  • Strong record keeping ability for reports and training manuals
  • Good computer and database skills
