Sr. Analyst of Partner Intelligence and Sales Analytics

The Gig:

The Sr. Analyst - Partner Intelligence & Sales Analytics is part of the Virgin Voyages Sales Crew, a team dedicated to partnering with Travel Advisors (First Mates to us!) globally to introduce Virgin Voyages to potential sailors and deliver bookings.  In this role you will measure, analyze and recommend strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of

  • our Sales Crew and their process,
  • our Strategic Partners marketing,
  • our Media presence and paid placements,
  • our Sales tools such as our internal websites and booking engines,
  • and our incentive structures.

Even though you’re a numbers guru, you bring your personality to work and are in your element working with everyone across the organization. You’ve been known to get creative in the way that you look at things and you have a great knack for figuring things out.  This role is key to the success of our Sales Crew in meeting our objectives of over achieving (no pressure) and to the success of our First Mates.

What You'll be Upto:  

  • Provide analytical support for strategic and tactical initiatives, which may include creating models, defining methodology, determining variables, sourcing data, validating data, analyzing risk and providing succinct recommendations.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Sales Crew and our First Mate accounts to understand and interpret data that informs, guides action and performance, increases sales productivity and increases the overall effectiveness of the sales organization.
  • Development and maintain tools and frameworks that support our sales strategy and allow our Sales Crew to inform and manage their portfolio of business.
  • Provide analysis to support the design of internal and external incentive programs, and reporting to facilitate payment.
  • Create informative briefs or presentations to be shared with our execs and partners.
  • Analyze and maintain the integrity of our commission payments, while continuously improving the process.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our data warehouse, and play an active role in planning for future sales data needs.
  • Develop great relationships with everyone in sales & marketing, the revenue management team, all of your colleagues and peers and our execs.

Superpowers Required:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline required
  • We’d love for you to have an MBA

EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years in hospitality; cruise industry preferred
  • A proven track record of supporting a successful sales organization analytically
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a plus

SKILLS

  • Statistical analysis is your bedrock
  • You have experience with Salesforce and Google Analytics
  • You have deep, hands on knowledge of Reservation Systems, Seaware a plus
  • Some call you a data mining genius, comfortable with standard database architecture and SQL
  • Visualization and dashboard creation in Tableau is your jam

First Mates Marketing Director

The Gig:

Our Director - First Mates Marketing, will work alongside the Sr Director of Brand Marketing and the Sales team to provide leadership for the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives for First Mates.  This highly motivated and creative person will work closely with the Sales team to support all First Mates MarComm efforts and will materialize brilliant, objective driven, cost efficient, and on brand marketing touch points. The ideal candidate is a trade marketing expert who is passionate about bringing a lifestyle brand to life while measuring performance within a B2B environment.

What You'll be Up to:

  • Develop and implement strategies, road maps, and solutions to drive First Mates (Travel Advisor) marketing and ultimately First Mates sales.
  • Be the strategic shepherd of all First Mates (Travel Advisor) communications touchpoints so they are “on brand” and achieve communication objectives.
  • Ensure consistency of message and images in all marketing programs, marry those comms to the right media vehicle at the right time in order to maximize efficiency and cost control.
  • Measure the efficacy of all marketing efforts and lead programs that help capture insights around how we optimally communicate and cater to First Mates.
  • Be the link between the marketing and sales organization by maintaining strong and positive relationships with the Sales leadership teams.
  • Develop and manage the execution of all First Mates collateral projects, brochures, events related materials, email communications, direct mail, newspaper, television, internet, digital re-targeting, social targeting, and website management, etc.
  • Strategize, oversee, support and maintain comms messaging and branded content on FirstMates.com website and measure return of all digital and non-digital tactics leveraged to drive First Mates engagement and performance.
  • Define social media strategy and content development around Seaciety (First Mates Facebook channel)
  • Lead on-going communications to Sales and Travel Agency partners ensuring new promotions, offers and newsworthy announcements are communicated clearly and in a timely manner
  • Oversee all of our Co-Op Marketing communication efforts, trade marketing efforts, associated budgets, and returns
  • Work with studio creative team in order to create all First Mates assets and marketing touch points
  • Collaborate with all teams involved in the development and execution of marketing and promotional programs, including Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, PR, Legal, Operations, and Customer Experience in order to ensure that programs convey desired messages, run on time and are cost-effective
  • Identify high value opportunities using business judgement based on strong analytics (including costs, conversion, retention, LTV, Qual data, and ROI) and build strategic, long-term plans around them.
  • Quantitatively track the ROI and success of First Mates initiatives, analyze trends and provide data driven insights to inform future initiatives
  • Be protective of our beloved brand and bold with your recommendations
  • Drive the big picture strategy forward, while understand the details and marketing intricacies to make those connections about how effective First Mates marketing can translate to growth driving initiatives
  • Lead all US, UK, and AUS trade marketing efforts
  • Educate internal teams and external teams on what is required to deliver Virgin-style marketing

Superpowers Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required and MBA preferred
  • Must have cruise industry experience preferably within the trade marketing department
  • 12 – 15 years of prior experience in marketing partnerships and/or business development in B2C environments and/or marketing/advertising agencies

Financial Reporting Manager

The Gig:

The Manager – Financial Reporting will be responsible for managing the preparation of external and internal financial reports, business analytics and various operational responsibilities. This would include system oversight of our enterprise reporting system, including the setup and maintenance of our general ledger.

The responsibilities include reviewing and approving reconciliations of all general ledger account balances and related transactions.  Ensure general ledger structure and related transactions are accurately posted by appropriate revenue systems including subsidiary systems and processes.  Manage all quarterly, semi-annual and annual audits with our external auditors. Assist in the preparation of month-end flash reports & dashboards and close procedures.

If you combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts you may be the Rockstar we're looking for! This can be accomplished by utilizing our Work Day Accounting System and other ancillary revenue systems. The ideal candidate will manage a team of skilled professionals in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, demonstrating precision and expertise, in order to maximize efficiency and productivity.

What You'll be Up to::

  • Prepare the Quarterly, Semi-Annual and Annual Reports including manage the internal and external review.
  • Create and maintain monthly calendar to inform parties of necessary deadline adherence:
  • Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation, and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner.
  • Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management.
  • Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosure.
  • Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.
  • Create, implement, and maintain comprehensive worldwide accounting policy documents to improve clarity and consistency.
  • Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements.
  • Preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory and financial organizations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor financial activities and details such as reserve levels to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating & posting transactions.
  • Oversees the reconciliations of general ledger balances by comparing reports from ancillary revenue systems with the general ledger in a timely manner.
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documents problems/discrepancies.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and self-motivator.
  • Participate in other projects as required.

Superpowers Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • CPA with at least 4 years of experience in a corporate financial reporting environment
  • An excellent knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
  • Experience managing a small team of accounting professionals
  • Experience with computerized ledger systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment

Director of Technical Operations

The Gig:

The Director of Technical Operations will manage all technical operations on Company’s vessels.

What You’ll Be Up To:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the repair and maintenance budget
  • Develops a dry-dock plan for the vessel and manages the vessels dry-docks
  • Arranges maintenance contracts with major suppliers
  • Ensures that the vessels statutory certification is up to date and that the necessary surveys are carried out as necessary
  • Ensures that the Technical Department Sea Staff receive an appropriate level of training
  • Carries out frequent shipboard visits
  • Primary responsibility for ERM and Technical Operations procedures. 
  • Shared responsibility for VRM in collaboration with Head of Marine Operations
  • Oversees shipboard Technical Operations to ensure Company procedures are implemented and effective.
  • Ensures that adequate technical resources and shore-based support are provided where necessary.
  • Ensures ships are maintained to Company Standards.
  • Ensures that equipment failures are identified and reported, cause determined where possible, and that appropriate corrective actions are taken to remedy defect and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Responsible for Dry-dock work scope, budget, planning & execution
  • Arranges maintenance contracts with major suppliers, ensuring timely shore-based support is available.
  • Ensures that necessary surveys are carried out and statutory certification is maintained.
  • Develops and manages Ship CAPEX, newbuild MTO and repair & maintenance budgets, ensuring safety and pollution prevention requirements are appropriately prioritized.
  • Acts as Ship Superintendent.
  • Other duties as assigned


Super Powers Required:

  • 10 years’ experience in Technical Operations in the Cruise Industry.
  • In depth knowledge of the Statutory Regulations applying to Cruise Vessels
  • Onboard experience in a Senior Management role
  • Conversant with the AMOS software package
  • Ability to work in highly pressurized situations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and cross- functional collaboration skills

Cyber Security Engineer

We are looking for the best of the best for our Cyber Security Engineer gig to help build and manage a cyber security platform for Virgin Voyages. You’ll make things more secure by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and securing highly sensitive data. You will be responsible for the analysis and assessment of vulnerabilities in the environments, investigate available tools and countermeasures to remedy detected vulnerabilities, and recommend solutions to help secure our platforms/systems against future vulnerabilities. You’ll also get to assist in the creation, implementation, and management of security solutions, policies and procedures.

  • Identify and define system security requirements

  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks

Super Powers Required:

  • 3-4 Years managing and creating security systems, solutions, policy and procedure
  • Proven work experience as a system security engineer or information security engineer
  • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
  • Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
  • Develop automation scripts to handle and track incidents
  • Collaborate with colleagues on authentication, authorization and encryption solutions

  • Recommend modifications in legal, technical and regulatory areas that affect IT security
