Virgin Voyages FAQs

Results for "Alcohol age policy"

  • Alcohol laws vary based on where we’re sailing. In the United States, the legal drinking age is 21, and in other ports, we follow that country’s local laws. In international waters, Sailors 18+ may consume alcohol unless otherwise restricted by itinerary.

On our Alaska itineraries, all Sailors must be 21 or older to purchase or consume alcohol onboard.

Sailors must comply with the drinking age laws of the departure port and itinerary, and alcohol cannot be brought on board by anyone under the applicable legal drinking age.
  • As an Adult-by-Design experience, we have an array of carefully selected beer, wine and expert cocktail options ship-wide. If you must bring that rare bottle of red you got in the south of France, we get it. Sailors are also welcome to bring two (2) 750mL bottles of wine per cabin in carry-on bags on the day of embarkation (sorry, no liquor or beer please). Please note, any alcohol in your checked luggage will be collected pre-sailing and returned once your voyage is complete. You are also welcome to bring specialty liquors from a port of call on board. Simply hand them to our security team as you board, and we will hold them until your final night.
  • The drinking age in international waters is 18, in the United States it's 21, and in other ports, we'll go with whatever their country's laws specify. On Alaska itineraries, our onboard policy requires all Sailors to be 21 or older to purchase or consume alcohol.
  • Absolutely! At Virgin Voyages, we truly believe life is about balance. So while alcohol can be purchased with Bar Tab, so can fresh-pressed juices and barista crafted specialty coffees.
  • Of course! Our corkage fee is $25 at our eateries.
